The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), founded in 1976, is North America’s oldest and largest professional society of home inspectors. ASHI’s goals have always been to build customer awareness of the importance of a quality home inspection and enhance the professionalism of home inspectors.
Associate Membership Requirements:

  • Report Writing Verification
  • 50 fee paid home inspections
  • Comply with ASHI Standard of Practice
  • Comply with ASHI Code of Ethics
Certified Membership Requirements:
  • Pass National Home Inspector Exam
  • Report Writing Verification
  • 250 fee paid home inspections
  • Comply with ASHI Standard of Practice
  • Comply with ASHI Code of Ethics
  • Continuing Education (20 hours/year)

Greater Baltimore ASHI meets on the third Thursday of every month except July & August, at 6:30 PM. The dinner meetings are held at Snyder’s Willow Grove Restaurant , at the corner of Hammond’s Ferry Road and the I-695 outer loop exit ramp at Exit 8 (ADC Map 42 E-11). Dinner begins at 7:00 PM, followed by Chapter business and an educational presentation. Meetings usually conclude by 9:00 PM.
